    It begins?
I had this really weird dream last night. I was working in a clinic, I think after the three years of vet school but it might have been for something else and I had this Beagle patient with some generic canine name (scruffy, scrappy or something). So the doctor in charge told me to start an IV on him, and rattled off a bunch of other stuff that needed to happen. Cut to another scene, I'm off doing the other stuff, get back to the hopsital and find out that I didn't start the IV right away when I should have, instead taking care of the other stuff first, and now he's on deaths door and I'm told I can't start the IV because he would crash.

So, I realize I have to go tell the doctor in charge that I screwed up, and I'm about ready to get reemed out by her when I wake up.

//Kinda a kicker, and a little sobering. I can't believe I had my first vet med dream and I'm not even in classes yet.

    It's Done
So, I just finished my interview. Took the tour (is that weird, after being here for about two years? Oh well, I havean't really seen the clinic part of Lynn).

I guess we'll see in March how things turn out...

    Wish me luck.

    Doggie stuff
I've been wanting to get Ouida into agility classes for awhile now. Well, the kennel club here has them, but it requires a clicker obedience training class from them first. No problem, that would probably be good. Ouida has had a puppy class, but not a clicker class. I was asked to bring Ouida down there yesterday night so that the woman who teaches the ONLY clicker obedience class and one of the agility classes could meet her. She is a NASTY piece of work. After not acknowledging me for an hour (busy, I understand that, but you could have scheduled a little better) she comes over to meet Ouida. Her first comment about Ouida "oh, you're a good girl" me "Yeah, she still needs to be bribed sometimes though" Her after she gives me the nastiest icy look imaginable; "Excuse me, we don't bribe here, we lure all our dogs. This isn't petsmart!" Umm... ok... whatever... So, now I get to suck it up and take the clicker class in March from her before I can get another instructor for the agility classes. :/ Roll eyes. Dog people.

    S and the
horrible, terrible, no good, very bad day.

Seriously, can I get a mulligan on today? Please? So many disasters in lab, now I just pray that I can salvage some of the work I've put in today (and yesterday) with this last gel. Ugh, if it turns out ok, I don't need to re-do my isolation and waste a bunch of samples. Ugh, I just wanna crawl under a rock and come out when whatever has apparently screwed up my karma is over.

    Yay me?
I just got a letter from the Purdue vet school. My application wasn't just tossed out in the first round of reviews and will be going on to a more in-depth review. I'll find out at the end of Jan if I get an interview or not. Well, better than being tossed out in the first cut I suppose.

    Pity Me :(
I feel like crap warmed over. And on the day before I have two of my finals. This girl from my Biochem class wanted to study with me today, but I had to back out. I don't think she bought for a second that I'm sick, I'm horrible at sounding sick over the phone. The worst part? She was really cute and I probably would have benefited from explaining stuff to another person. Now I'm just home on my couch, alone with my books wallowing in some shitty respiratory bug of unknown etiology. Ugh.

    Procrastination Nation
5 more stupid Biochem handouts to go over, a semester of Physiology to review and a semester of useless brain stuffing fluff to go over for nutrition. Of course updating you on this is much more important than actually getting this stuff done.

Oh, and I've decided, I'm going to loose 30 pounds by the middle of March. I really need to shed some excess(and I can well afford 30 lb of gravity sucking fat) if my climbing is going to get to the next level. Thats ten lbs a month, should be doable in a healthy way.

    Ugh~
First years Histo practical. I did all I could to help them succeed. Nasty bad snowfall, wanted to get out of Purdue early so I didn't get stuck in the mad 5:00 pm exodus. Apparently everyone else had the same idea, because 45 minutes into what should be a 10 minute drive I finnally got home.

Oh well, get a blog right?

Ah, and Shelby, if you're reading this, I'm willing our snow your way.

    Cyber Monday?
Thoughts on cyber Monday, a term coined interestingly enough in Aug-Sept of THIS year to describe what is only traditionally the 12th busiest online shopping day of the year.

American media and business and the government worked together for decades to create an American culture that is like a cash cow.

We have a culture evolved by CorpGovMedia in order to bring forth a culture that would create domesticated consumer animals. Homo Sapiens Americanus. Just as early homo sapiens sapiens evolved domesticated livestock that would be compliant and serve the needs of man, so too has CorpGovMedia domesticated a subspecies of mankind--because culture is a part of man himself, the American culture has been evolved by CorpGovMedia to create Homo Sapiens Americanus--a domesticated subspecies that is evolved to generate business profits.

America is a livestock operation. This is not a conspiracy; it is an ecosystem, with quasi-organic entities competing to survive. "Cybermonday" is just another survival ploy used by the American elite to further evolve Homo Sapiens Americanus. These are just environmental forces that act on our culture to change it over decades.

This explains why Americans work longer hours and have less governmental benefits than Europeans. Just like the domesticated cows will walk into the slaughterhouse, while its wild cousin will run.

    So...
I'm sitting here at Lynn library at 1 in the morning going over Physiology and all I can think is "I should really just learn to say 'Fuck it' more." Too stubborn to get a bad grade, but too damn tired to muster the mental reserves to FOCUS damnit!

Really, the last exam was so... Straight forward bordering on easy (a rarity in the classes I've taken lately, and quite honestly a little insulting). If your profs ever tell you that their exams are hard only because they have a high opinion of you, and you'd be insulted if their exams were easy, believe them. That's probably why I'm having such a hard time motivating myself now. :/ I have a sneaky suspicion that the next one won't be so nice to take. Oh well, back to the grind.

    Well, it's done...
VMCAS application: Submitted. Now I just have to wait and see who bites. Maybe I'll get accepted to some other places besides Purdue, but I honestly have to say that my chances are definitely much higher here than any other vet school. I mean, c'mon, they'll let me TA for the vet students, but they arean't going to let me be one? That'd be a little screwy. Now all I have to do is get my stupid thesis beaten out of me before the end of the summer.

    Bored
An intermiably long, "hurry up and wait" for my blot to be finished incubating. Then another long wait for it to finish developing and exposing. Bah. I suppose could make more prductive use of my time than just sitting on the internet, like finishing my VMCAS application, reading papers, ect. But it's Friday, and my mind would rather be taken up with other distractions beside the academic. It is summer after all.
